The Elmore County Community Foundation is an affiliate of Central Alabama Community Foundation and offers citizens in Elmore County the opportunity to build long-term support for their community. Individuals may establish new funds to support specific purposes or organizations, or they may contribute to existing funds. These charitable funds provide grants to area nonprofits to improve the quality of life in Elmore County.
The Foundation awards more than $50,000 in scholarship funds each year to area students to further their secondary education. Scholarship criteria vary according to each scholarship.
2016 COMMUNITY TRUST GRANTS
$2,500 – Elmore County BOE HIPPY to provide a literacy and learning skills program to at risk, low income, preschool children and their parents throughout Elmore County.
$2,500 -- Hospice of Montgomery to provide non-curative medical and support services within the home setting to the needs of patients and family members during the final stages of an incurable illness.
$2,500 -- Montgomery Area Family Violence Program, Inc. d.b.a. Family Sunshine Center to provide emergency shelter, victim services, food and clothing for residents of Elmore County.
FIELD OF INTEREST GRANT
Margaret & Auston Bridges Fund for Arts in Education
$700 -- Holtville High School Band to provide funding to help purchase a sousaphone for the Holtville High School Band Program.
More grants will be awarded in December and January.
